Job description
A national solar, battery storage, and microgrid contractor is hiring a Project Engineer to support project managers and utility operations leadership on solar, battery storage, and microgrid builds. This is the seat where you learn the delivery side of energy construction properly, on real utility-scale work.
What you will run
- Material ordering and delivery logistics
- Quotes, bids, and subcontractor qualification
- Project documentation and records
- Coordination with engineering teams and participation in design reviews
- Schedule and cost report updates
- Day to day support of site superintendents
- Project closeout
Rotation and travel
Five weeks on site, one week off. You travel Saturday to start Monday, and head home Sunday when the rotation ends.
Compensation
$175,000 to $225,000 base, open at the top end for the right background. On top of base, every week you are on site:
- $160 per day per diem, seven days a week
- $350 per day additional for Saturdays
- $450 per day additional for Sundays

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or an equivalent mix of education and experience
- 1 to 3 years in construction
- Able to read drawings and specifications
- Organized, detail driven, and able to hold several sites in your head at once
- Electrical background preferred
- Conceptual knowledge of racking, panels, inverters, DC and AC wiring, interconnection, DAS, batteries, gensets, turbines, ATS, switchgear, NEC, and rapid shutdown
