Job description
A national solar, battery storage, and microgrid contractor is hiring a Mechanical Superintendent to direct mechanical scope on utility-scale sites. You work alongside the Project Superintendent, Electrical Superintendent, and Project Manager to keep the mechanical work ahead of the schedule rather than behind it.
What you will run
- Planning and directing mechanical work in the field
- Look-ahead scheduling with project and electrical supervision
- Mechanical subcontractors, materials, and equipment coordination
- Quality control alongside the QA team, on self-performed and subcontracted work
- Scope compliance against design documents
- Daily field reports, schedules, and correspondence in Procore
- Direct interaction with the owner, owner representatives, and testing agencies
Rotation and travel
Five weeks on site, one week off. You travel Saturday to start Monday, and head home Sunday when the rotation ends. National travel depending on project location.
Compensation
$125,000 to $175,000 base, open at the top end for the right background. On top of base, every week you are on site:
- $160 per day per diem, seven days a week
- $350 per day additional for Saturdays
- $450 per day additional for Sundays

Requirements
- 4+ years supervising solar projects, including work at 20MW up to 100MW+
- 5+ years in project supervision or construction operations
- NABCEP PV Installation Professional certification preferred
- Solid grounding in project management process
- Strong record keeping and organizational discipline
- Able to travel nationally depending on project location
